May 22

Chris and Joel spent a lot of time up at the garden yesterday getting the irrigation all set up for our garden. It looks great and from what I understand, it's almost all done with a few minor things to finish it up. It will make watering so much easier! I was amazed at how much things had grown and how many things had sprung up since the last time I stopped by. However, I'm not sure if the weeds or our plants are winning. Amy sent out an urgent email this morning asking for weeding help, heed the call!

I almost forgot that I snapped a few quick shots when we stopped by for a bit. I do need to get back up there and document the other new sprouts I heard about and all of the tomato starts that were planted.
At least the potatoes are still bigger than the weeds.

A Day of Work

Today was a very productive work day up at the garden. On a quick walk around, when I first got there, I found turnips, beets, scallions, onions, radishes, lettuce, kale, chard, raspberries and potatoes all doing very well and looking great! We also found our tilled up garden trying to become a field again. It was great to see so many people up there today and we got a lot done. The open parts of the garden were tilled again, beans, corn, cucumbers, lettuce and squash were all planted, half of the raised beds were weeded and more of the irrigation was put into place.

Irrigation is a beautiful thing!

This shot and the one below it show most of the folks out working in the garden. It was fun to see everyone out there.

I love this picture!
